Understanding your insurance coverage can be quite a challenge. Our goal is to assist you in maximizing your benefits. Your dental insurance belongs to you. This means that we have no leverage to obtain payment from your insurance carrier.
Dental Insurance plans, whether provided by an employer or obtained as an individual, vary significantly. Plans may restrict payment for certain services, or set limits on the total amount they will pay for your treatment. Sometimes, plans will not cover you for pre-existing conditions, or will require you to be on the plan for a minimum amount of time before covering certain treatments. All restrictions and exclusions are based on the premium paid for the insurance by you or your employer. We encourage you to become familiar with your policy exclusions, deductibles and required co-payments, and we are happy to assist you.
As a courtesy to you, we will gladly file your insurance electronically within 24 hours of service and request that payment is sent directly to you. We always follow American Dental Association guidelines for coding procedures and filing insurance.
Realize that dental insurance policies restrict payment for some services, use restricted fee schedules (called UCR) and exclude some procedures based on prior conditions or length of time on the plan. All restrictions are based on the premium paid for the insurance, not our fees or recommended treatment.
